 Superman, l'Ange de Metropolis (Superman: The Animated Series) est une série d'animation américaine en 54 épisodes de 25 minutes, produite par Warner Bros. Pictures et diffusée entre le 6 septembre 1996 et le 12 février 2000 dans le bloc de programmation Kids' WB.

En France, la série a été diffusée à partir du 1er mars 1997 sur Canal+ et rediffusée sur France 3 et Cartoon Network puis sur Boing et sur Toonami.

On ne présente plus Superman, Lois Lane, le Daily Planet, Lex Luthor....

L'excellente série d'animation (du moins la saison 1 et une partie de la 2) a permis rendre justice à l'univesrs de Superman.

Bruce Timm a même inventé Livewire ! C'est dire. Cette série comporte de sacrés épisodes comme de trés moyens, notamment dans sa saison 3, écrite avec les pieds.

Excellent doublage français, belle animation, scénarios plutôt solides, la série est un modèle du genre pour découvrir l'Homme d'Acier.
